Raising Dough: Share Our Strength

9 Sep

It’s no surprise that our donation box for our August Raising Dough campaign was filled to the brim.  Our little, four-legged friends at the SF SPCA are heart string pullers for sure.  You dropped $172 in the donation box, and we matched it, for a total donation of $344. Thank you for your support!

In September, we are joining the national ‘No Kid Hungry’ campaign. Did you know that 73% of teachers say that  they teach students that come to school hungry because there isn’t enough food at home?  And, with every $10 you donate, you connect 100 hungry children with meals.

With 1 out of 5 kids hungry in America, the mission of Share our Strength is to ensure that every child has healthy food to eat, every day.  Restaurants all over the country join in this campaign each year, participating in different ways.  You can see who is participating in this area here.

As for Flour & Co, we’ll be collecting donations in our community box, so drop your change to help.  In addition, for the week of 9/16-9/22, when you show us you are dropping $5 in our collections box between 3pm and 6pm, your coffee drink of choice is on us (one drink per guest per day with donation, does not include bottled beverages)!  Now we’re talking!!

Share Our Strength

As part of this campaign, we’ll be volunteering at the SF Food Bank on Tuesday, September 10, from 6pm to 8pm.  There are still a few spots left if you’d like to join us.  Email info@flourandco.com if interested.

As for other bakery happenings, we’ve got a lot going on this fall beginning with some new products coming your way over the next few weeks.  We can’t wait to share them with you soon!!  Until then…
