Raising Dough: Boys & Girls Club (Tenderloin) and Flour & Co

2 Jun

In May, we raised awareness for Movemeant, an organization that brings new light to positive body image.  Thank you for dropping your change in our collection box.  We’ll be counting (and matching) the funds this evening.

In June, we’re featuring the Boys & Girls Club for Raising Dough.  The organization helps young people, especially those who are disadvantaged, to realize their full potential.  The clubs provide a safe place for kids to go after school, on weekends, and during the summer, when they might otherwise be alone at home.  Literacy, healthy eating, and fitness, are just a few ways that they help to make a positive impact on these young lives.

Besides collecting money in our donation box, we’re excited to be volunteering this month on Tuesday, June 16th, from 12:45pm-4pm.  We have space for 8 to support the literacy program at the Tenderloin club, right in our back yard.  We’ll be meeting there for a quick intro to the club and our activity for the day, and then we’ll spend time with the kids for the rest of the afternoon.  Email Emily at info@flourandco.com if you’d like to join us!
